Long before the restaurant was opened on April 7, 2000 Charlie Sibley was providing great BBQ and other southern favorites through small catering events like family get-togethers and weddings. Eventually, Charlie decided he was going to take the next step and leap into the restaurant business with the help of the family. After a few months of remodeling, we opened up our original location and started building our reputation and exceeding the expectations of taste buds near and far! A couple years went by with happy customers, full bellies, and a slew of successful catering gigs before we realized we had outgrown our little restaurant in a strip mall. Thus, we opened up shop in our current location in October 2008 at the corner of Winfree St. and Route 10 (West Hundred Road) The bigger dining area and better road frontage has brought us more customers and ample room to fit everybody inside with a little elbow room included! The larger kitchen and prep area, paired with an additional smoker, have made sure we have stayed true to our promise of keeping you fed right! We are so happy and thankful to have such loyal customers and a great community to serve, we appreciate each and every one of you. Next time you're in our neck of the woods stop by and treat yourself! Whether you're into hickory-smoked pork BBQ, ribs, chicken, and brisket or hand-breaded catfish and pork chops we've got you covered! If that doesn't fill you up, hopefully our homemade pies will do the trick!
As many of you know, Charlie passed away on September 5, 2012 and it was a rough time for our family, but with your support and kind words we made it through and continued serving the fantastic food we all have enjoyed for so many years.
Another setback came on June 16, 2017 when a fire broke out in the kitchen overnight. Our brick walls stood strong and held the building up, but they also built up an immense heat inside the building. Most of what didn't burn in the kitchen and prep areas was melted, charred or covered in ash. We're still grateful for the brave firemen who entered the building that night and subdued the fire and stayed into the morning hours to air out the building. We can still remember one of the firefighters saying, "I sure hope you reopen soon because we all love your food" as they packed up their trucks. Fast forward 363 days and we finally reopened the doors on June 14, 2018 with a fabulous, rustic look inside. The parking lot was packed, lines were long, and orders were being prepared as quickly as possible! Things are back to normal in the restaurant now, let's hope it stays that way for quite some time.
If you're driving through Chester or even relatively close by, we'd be more than happy to have you walk through the front door! We can generally get you seated immediately and the average time frame from ordering to eating is about 10-15 minutes. Ask your server about any specials we may be promoting! If you can't stay and eat, we won't hold it against you - order some takeout.
